Architectural gem. Rapidly improved gastronomy!

Prague is a great city for lovers of sightseeing, culture and nightlife. Since the revolution in 1989 the gastronomy rapidly improved and you can find here a lot of very good quality restaurants. If you don´t like Czech classical cuisine (such as dumplings, schnitzel, goulash etc.) you can find there numerous restaurants with international food (mainly Italian but also Asian, Mexican or Indian).
Hotels improved their quality as well. Downtown (in historical part - Lesser town) you can find many boutique stylish hotels and International hotel´s chain as well.
From the architectonically point of view you can find here almost any kind of style (from Gotics, Baroque, Rococo style to Art Nouveau). Only what is really missing in Prague is a Modern architecture. Actually there is just one modern interesting building - the Dancing house (btw, there is a nice bar with a terrace in the last floor with a beautiful view on the river Vltava and the Prague Castle).

Since this is my first review here, I shall share my most recent Prague experience with you. Visited Prague many times, however never managed to have Sunday Brunch there, until about one month ago.I did get a booking for myself and my lady friend at the Intercontinental and it was awesome. Got table at the outdoor terace and since it was beautifull and warm day , the view was fantastic. Food "fit for a king" service unobtrusive and fast and the price not too bad. about 50 bucks per person ( + extra for the "premium wine" ). Simply a must when you visiting Prague over the weekend. Reservation is a must. For some unknown and silly reason, they do not run the Brunch in July and August. Not sure why, but they should

Prague is one of my favourite destinations. The city isn´t too big so if you live in a hotel located downtown, you don´t need any taxi, you can easily walk to see the most interesting sights or you can go by metro. Prague has a very good reputation regarding beautiful girls, cheap beer and rich history (mainly amazing churches from the 14th cent. when the king Charles IV. ruled the country or many baroque buildings) - I have to say - all it´s true :-)! But also it is interesting to go out of Prague and see e.g. town Cesky Krumlov, Kutna hora, castle Konopiste or Karlstejn, Carlsbad.... Very charming places! You can easily go there with some travel agency by a small microbus. I can recommend Martin tour. They have very good guides talking fluently by several languages. Czechs are polite but somewhat reserved, at least at the beginning when they don´t know you.

We all (four friends) had a brilliant time in Prague last weekend. I found this city to be special and beautiful - especially the older areas (such as Jewish town, Charles bridge and Lesser town). There are also many choices where to go in the night - we chose to visit the theatre Laterna Magica (fantastic so called "black theatre") and Coco bar which is near the Old town square. Both places had a very nice atmosphere. Just I don´t know why the fried cheese is so popular food here. It was funny and gummy :-)... a real high-cal food! But the beer was very cheap (cheaper then water) and great! Highly recommended (not just the beer but all!!!)

I know Praga well, I was there first maybe 15 years ago but I Always go bak more and more. and now I can compare how it was and how it is now. It is realy a beautifull city But i do enjoy the high standard of living there. Italians are really fashinated by Praga, everybody has been there or is planning to go; and I repeat to them the living there is reaaly good and still there is no stress like in many italian cities. public transport work well and u can go everywhere (my favorite is to take train to the castle for exaplle) . Food was good but now is even better even if I noticed tha restaurant like to have more sophisticad menus, (but why?? go back to the traditional food is so good...). Maybe I will add specific suggestions to the city but my problem is "Prosciutto di Praga" which is famous in Italy ... where is It ?? I am not able to find almost in no restaurant !! Go to Praga anyway :)
